Super Metro Sacco is a commuting company based in Nairobi, Kenya, established in 2016. The Sacco began operations on the Thika Road route and has since rapidly expanded to become one of the most dominant and respected matatu SACCOs in the country. With over 200 modern vehicles, Super Metro has established primary routes to Kikuyu (Route 105), Thika Road, Juja (Route 236), Makongeni (Route 237), and has since expanded to Rongai, Ngong, Kitengela, and other corridors.
Super Metro is widely regarded as a pioneer in organised, comfortable, and reliable public transport in Nairobi. The Sacco is known for its modern Isuzu matatus and long-distance Scania coaches all equipped with WiFi, reclining seats, USB charging ports, air conditioning, TV, and sound systems. In addition to passenger transport, Super Metro offers a parcel delivery service and vehicle hiring for events. The Sacco’s chairman is Samwel Mwangi and one of its founding members is popularly known as Komastu. Super Metro has earned the popular phrase among commuters: “Wakifika stage wanajua ni mazishi” meaning when they enter a route, competitors struggle to survive.
