📋 About Standard Investment Bank
Standard Investment Bank (SIB) is a Kenyan investment bank founded in 1995 by James Wangunyu as Standard Stocks Ltd. It received its investment banking licence from the Capital Markets Authority in 2003 and has since offered a single point of entry for investment banking, securities trading, investment management and corporate finance.
The head office is on the 16th Floor of JKUAT Building on Kenyatta Avenue, Nairobi. A regional office opened in Mombasa in 2025 at Nyali Centre. Public contact numbers are 0777 333 000 and 020 2277 000. Emails include invest@sib.co.ke and complaints@sib.co.ke.
SIB was licensed as Kenya’s first Online Forex Trading Money Manager in 2018 (trading as Mansa-X). In 2024 it became the first institution licensed by the CMA to operate Special Collective Investment Schemes. It manages the MansaX Special Funds and, with Safaricom, the Ziidi Money Market Fund. The firm has advised on major capital-raising transactions in Kenya and serves both institutional and retail clients.
In late 2025 SIB broke ground on a new headquarters project in Westlands (SIB International Centre). Current client services continue from the JKUAT Building address.
