⭐ Reviews & Ratings
MTRH is valued as a vital regional referral centre offering specialist care that would otherwise require travel to Nairobi, and its College of Medicine is well regarded for training. As with many large public referral hospitals, patient feedback is mixed some report long waiting times and inconsistent front-line service, which the hospital’s own customer care team has publicly acknowledged and invited feedback on via their official social channels.
“I had an orthopaedic surgery at MTRH after an accident and the specialist care was excellent. It’s a relief knowing a hospital this equipped is available in Eldoret without needing to travel to Nairobi for complex surgical cases.”
“Studying Clinical Medicine at MTRH College has given me hands-on exposure to real cases at a major referral hospital from early in my training. The Nurses’ Simulation Centre is also a fantastic resource for building confidence before working with real patients.”
“Waiting times at outpatient were very long on the day I visited, and I felt some front-desk staff could have been more attentive. I reached out to the customer care line about it and they did respond, encouraging me to share more details — I appreciate that they’re open to feedback, though the experience itself needs work.”
“My father was referred to MTRH’s renal unit for dialysis and the medical team has been consistent and professional. As a public referral hospital serving such a huge population, some days are busier than others, but the quality of specialist care has been reassuring for our family.”
