📋 About Shell Kenya (Vivo Energy Kenya)
Vivo Energy Kenya was established in November 2012, following the acquisition of Kenya’s downstream fuel business from Kenya Shell Limited. The company operates as the exclusive licensee of the Shell brand in Kenya, part of Vivo Energy plc, a pan-African fuel retailer and distributor headquartered in London, UK, serving 29 markets across Africa and beyond under the Shell and Engen brands. Vivo Energy Kenya’s head office is at Vienna Court, East Wing, State House Crescent, off State House Avenue, Nairobi.
Vivo Energy Kenya is a market leader serving retail and commercial customers with a full range of automotive fuels, lubricants, aviation fuels, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) under the Afrigas brand, and black fuels, through a network of more than 350 Shell service stations nationwide. The company operates significant bulk oil storage terminals in Nairobi, Mombasa, and Nanyuki, provides aviation fuel services at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Wilson Airport, Mombasa International Airport, and Malindi Airport, and runs a lubricating oil blending plant in Mombasa. Beyond fuel, many Shell stations offer non-fuel retail experiences including ArtCaffe Market convenience shops, quick service restaurants, car wash and lubricant bay services, and Afrigas cylinder refills, alongside active community investment programmes across the country.

⭐ Reviews & Ratings
Shell is widely trusted across Kenya for fuel quality and a dense nationwide station network, with the newer “model stations” featuring ArtCaffe Market and quick service dining drawing particular praise for elevating the fuel stop experience.
“Fill up at the Dennis Pritt station regularly and the ArtCaffe Market makes it a genuine stop, not just a fuel top-up. V-Power has noticeably better performance in my car compared to standard unleaded.”
“Switched to Afrigas for cooking a couple of years back and refilling is easy at our local station. Much safer and cleaner than what we used before.”
“Use Shell’s commercial fuel solutions for our delivery fleet and the Mombasa storage terminal proximity has helped keep our supply reliable. Would appreciate a bit more flexibility on bulk pricing during high-demand periods.”
“Drive the Nairobi-Nakuru route often and Shell stations along the highway are consistently clean with working washrooms — a small thing that makes a real difference on long journeys.”
