Avenue Hospital is one of Kenya’s most established private healthcare institutions, founded in 1976 by the late surgeon Dr. B.P. Patel. The hospital is now operated under Avenue Healthcare Group, which was incorporated in 1995 for the purpose of managing the outpatient department and extending medical services to corporate clients through an innovative managed healthcare concept. The group operates from its head office at Orbit Place, 9th Floor, Westlands Road, Nairobi.
Avenue Healthcare currently runs 4 fully-fledged hospitals and over 18 primary care medical centres across Kenya with branches in Nairobi, Kisumu, Mombasa, Thika, Nakuru, Ongata Rongai, Eldoret, and beyond. The group serves over 1,000 corporate companies through its managed healthcare services, including mobile and in-house clinical services with 24-hour hospital backup. Avenue Healthcare is led by Executive Director Diana Patel, Managing Director Dr. Denis Ogolla, and Chief Operating Officer Dr. Caroline Gichuru.
