What Happened on the Flight

KQ said cabin crew found one passenger unresponsive as the flight neared Lagos. Crew members gave first aid in line with their training and followed standard emergency procedures while the aircraft continued to its destination.

Because the plane was already on approach, it proceeded to land as planned. Ground medical teams were arranged to meet the flight at Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

What Authorities Have Said

Reporting in Nigeria indicates the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) was briefed and that police have opened investigations into the circumstances of the death. Some Nigerian media have carried additional claims about the passenger’s travel background and behaviour on board. Those claims have not been confirmed in Kenya Airways’ public statement and should be treated as under investigation until official findings are issued.

No Kenyan aviation or health authority had published a separate detailed cause-of-death report by Wednesday afternoon, 7 October 2026.
