Nyoro’s Stake and Intentions
Nyoro acquired 3,982,253 shares through his investment firm, Limpopo Capital Limited. At the price prevailing before the surge, the stake was worth roughly KSh 29.8 million. After Wednesday’s close it stood at about KSh 85.8 million, giving him an unrealised paper gain of approximately KSh 57.1 million in one session.
The holding makes him the third-largest shareholder. He has said he wants to raise the stake to 25 percent so he can pursue strategic control. His stated plan is to turn Olympia Capital, which has interests in manufacturing and building materials, into an investment holding company that acquires businesses and takes stakes in other listed firms for dividends.
Nyoro has acknowledged that thin trading makes it difficult to build the position quickly. He has indicated he would be willing to exit if he cannot reach the 25 percent threshold.
Company Results Released the Same Day
The share surge occurred on the same day Olympia Capital released half-year results for the six months to 31 August 2026. Net profit fell about 18 percent to roughly KSh 17.3–17.4 million, even as revenue edged higher. Investors largely focused on the stake news rather than the weaker profit figure.
The sharp one-day move reflects the impact of a high-profile investor disclosure on a thinly traded stock. Whether Nyoro can build his holding toward 25 percent and reshape the company will depend on continued liquidity and the willingness of existing shareholders to sell. The paper gains remain unrealised until shares are sold.
