Glovo is a Spanish technology company that operates a multi-category on-demand delivery platform. In Kenya it has grown steadily since entering the market in 2019 and is now one of the most widely used apps for food delivery, grocery shopping, pharmacy items, packages and other everyday needs.
Customers open the Glovo app, choose from thousands of partner restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies and other stores, place an order, and a rider (usually on a motorcycle) collects and delivers it. The service is available in 12 cities and towns across the country, with Nairobi remaining the largest market and secondary cities such as Mombasa showing strong growth.
In May 2026 Glovo opened its new Kenyan headquarters and African digital hub at The Piano on Brookside Drive in Nairobi. The office houses more than 600 young Kenyans and serves as a centre of excellence for technology, talent and operations supporting the wider continent. At the same time the company announced a further KSh 10 billion investment commitment in Kenya through 2030. Since launch, Glovo has generated more than KSh 20 billion in sales for local businesses (approximately 80 % of which are SMEs) and contributed significantly to the local economy.
The platform works with over 6,000 merchants and supports more than 2,200 active riders daily. Support for customers is primarily handled through the in-app Help centre and chat. A dedicated phone line exists for issues with ongoing orders.
