📋 About Umash Funeral Home
Umash Funeral Home (Umash Funeral Services) is one of Kenya’s long-established funeral directors. Founded in 1987 by Kamau Njoroge, it began as a carpentry and casket-making business and grew into a full-service funeral home with modern facilities for body preservation, chapel services and transport.
The main Nairobi branch is located on Mbagathi Way opposite the Armed Forces Memorial Hospital. There is also a branch in Nakuru along the Nairobi–Nakuru Highway and a new facility opened in August 2026 at Kabati along the Thika–Kenol Highway serving Murang’a and neighbouring areas. The company employs close to 100 staff and handles a significant number of funerals weekly.
Umash provides dignified care for families, including body collection from hospitals or homes, embalming and preservation, a range of coffins, hearse services, chapel use and repatriation within Kenya and beyond. Pre-need funeral insurance options (Umash Care) are also available.
