Kenchic Limited is the leading producer of poultry in East and Central Africa, having started operations in 1984. The company’s main activity at inception was the production of broiler and layer day old chicks, and over the years it has expanded into processed chicken and further-processed chicken products under its well-known Kenchic Foods brand, including the popular Crispy Kuku range. The company’s head office is at Exsan House, Enterprise Road, opposite Kobil Petrol Station, Nairobi.
Kenchic’s farming practices conform not only to Kenyan standards but also to European Union and World Health Organisation requirements, guided by its “Farm to Fork” programme that emphasises good animal husbandry, food safety, animal welfare, and hygiene at every stage of production. Its chicken processing plant is Halal certified and is the most modern in the region. Kenchic supplies day old chicks (Broilers, Layers, and KenBro dual-purpose chicks) and fresh or processed chicken to leading supermarkets, hotels, institutions, in-flight catering, and quick service restaurants across the country, supported by a network of poultry centres in every major town in Kenya.
