Ecobank is Africa’s leading pan-African bank. The group was founded in 1985 in Lomé, Togo, with the vision of creating a bank for Africans, by Africans. Today it operates in more than 33 countries across the continent.
Ecobank entered Kenya in June 2008 by acquiring a majority stake in EABS Bank. The local business was rebranded as Ecobank Kenya and has since grown into a full commercial bank offering consumer, commercial and corporate & investment banking services. Customers can bank seamlessly across Ecobank’s wide African network.
Rebecca Mbithi became Managing Director of Ecobank Kenya with effect from 9 February 2026. The bank continues to focus on digital banking, cross-border services and supporting businesses that trade across Africa.
