How do I file KRA returns online?

Log in to the iTax portal at itax.kra.go.ke using your KRA PIN and password. Navigate to Returns, select the return type (e.g. Income Tax Individual), fill in your details, and submit. You can also dial *572# for self-service filing assistance.

How do I register for a KRA PIN?

Visit itax.kra.go.ke, click on "New PIN Registration", and follow the prompts. You will need your National ID, email address, and mobile number. Approval is usually instant for individuals. Businesses require additional documentation.

What is the deadline for filing KRA returns?

Individual income tax returns must be filed by 30th June each year for the previous calendar year. Employed individuals (P9 filers) have the same deadline. VAT returns are due on the 20th of each month. Late filing attracts a penalty of KSh 2,000 per month for individuals.
